Best Of Cannery Row
Catering to ocean lovers in search of a new and different activity, SUP offers paddlers a view from a different angle—a view from above. Imagine standing, balancing and paddling through the clear blue waters and kelp beds of the Monterey Bay on a large surfboard. Watch below as sea lions splash and sea otters play, see the colorful starfish and witness many other underwater wonders not normally visible from the shore's edge. In addition to incredible landscape views and wildlife watching opportunities, "paddlers" are also known to catch a wave from time to time.
SUP is the perfect opportunity to get physical exercise, as this new activity is known for exercising the body’s core and sense of balance. Rent a Stand Up Paddle at Adventures by the Sea located in the heart of Cannery Row.

Cannery Row Dive Sites:
MacAbee Beach
A popular local dive site, MacAbee Beach is a short sandy beach walk-in. The site is located on the beach in front of the Spindrift Inn and is accessible right from Cannery Row.The area is northward facing, well protected and has little swell. The site is a great beginner's kelp dive with a maximum depth of about 40 ft.
The Breakwater
Another favorite novice dive site is Breakwater, located at the intersection of Cannery Row and Foam St. With an easy shore entry, you can dive a range of 10 to 60 feet in depth. This site is often used for training and scuba certification. With excellent conditions for the beginner diver, the beach has a very shallow slope and the surf is often quite calm due to its unique location. The site derives its name from the stone breakwater on the south, and a kelp forest can be found on the north. The Breakwater is also a great spot for a night dive, with plenty of octopi to be seen. The bright lights along the breakwater make nightime navigation a breeze. Finish your dive with a fresh shower on site.
